Our Story
Scent Crusher® was founded in 2008 by lifetime hunter James McGee. After decades of traditional scent elimination practices failed him, James sought a better solution. He discovered ozone’s incredible potential to permanently destroy odors on a molecular level. Ozone generators were bulky and impractical for field use, so James set out to engineer a portable, battery-powered device.
After years of development, he successfully miniaturized and optimized ozone generation for use on hunting gear and equipment. In 2013, the first Scent Crusher® Ozone Go prototype was complete. This revolutionary device fit in a daypack to make true odor elimination practical.
We quickly moved from James’ basement workshop to a commercial facility to keep up with demand. The Scent Crusher® team has since grown to over 30 staff members. But our close-knit culture remains, with “Crush Odors, Share Success” as the guiding motto. We’re hunters serving fellow hunters by sharing the gift of odor elimination.
Our Technology
Scent Crusher® Ozone Go is at the core of every product we make. This portable ozone generator destroys odor molecules at a molecular level. Hunting odors are permanently eliminated from clothing, gear, and equipment.
Ozone is created by an electrical discharge within Ozone Go. This reactive gas is then circulated through the storage space, reacting with odor molecules. After the process completes, the ozone harmlessly dissipates without leaving a scent. The result is gear and clothing that is completely free of any incriminating odors.
